Just thought fellow Sharpe fans might wish to know that I have just placed for sale on ebay an original antique coloured print showing the storming of Badajos. The antique print was published in 1815 and as fans will know the famous battle featured in the Sharpe series. The auction reserve price is £25. Best wishes, James Gorringe

I have collected every book in the series, and am now looking to acquire the films. Sharpe is the best series I have ever read. I especially like two of the villains in the series. Obadiah Hakeswill, played by Pete Postlethwaite, and Sir Henry Simmerson, played by Michael Cochrane. Both these characters are quite comical.

Each year when I have some time off, I watch the full series. This is the fourth time I have relived these adventures of honour and courage. I am saddened when I am done as there are no true equivalents to these films.

I find myself singing "O'er the hills and far away" in my work day.

What a great series, Sean Bean does a superb job. Oh well, till next year.

I loved the characters Sharpe, Boromir, Mellors, and Eddard Stark. I also loved the movies The Fifteen Streets and The Field. Sean Bean has worked with some very prestigeous actors. Why hasn't he been nominated for knighthool. If Osborn can, why no Bean?

how can you have association from the Waterloo Trading company which is obviously a scam company. their site is where i found yours as a link.

i am intending to blacken that sites name and i am afraid as an associated organisation your name will also be affected.

Admin reply: Sir,
If the Compendium is linked at the Waterloo Trading Company it is without our knowledge. We do not have any links on the Compendium for that company and are not associated with it in any way. I do not have an email address for them and I cannot find any website listing under that name. There is an Iowa-based company by that name listed in a couple of business directories, but that is all that I can find.
